I approached Kate cold after researching the market and was initially impressed by her reviews and transparent pricing structure. You only get to sell a house once, so I wanted to be sure she would meet our expectations before hiring her. I decided to 'mystery shop' one of her listings—a property that looked like hard work in a flat market. Despite it being listed for over a month, she was still running the open homes herself and pitching it with enthusiasm. I was sold. Kate is unusual (in a good way). While many agents will abide unrealistic vendor expectations just to secure a listing—only to wear you down later—Kate tells it straight. If you aren't aligned, she won't take the listing. I loved her honesty and valued that we were on the same page from day one. Kate worked tirelessly to sell my late mother's house, navigating various twists and turns along the way. Frankly, she outperformed every other professional we engaged during the process (if only lawyers were half as efficient and responsive as Kate!). Seeing the hours she puts in was eye-opening. Brodie accurately assessed what our needs and hopes were and went to work. He found some places that were close to what we wanted but not quite everything. This enabled us to get a very good idea of what was out there and what it was worth. He always answered his phone or responded promptly to any message we left. This gives one confidence that our questions were at the top of his list. He found the property we finally bought and was of great assistance in the complicated process of the actual purchase. The key question of course is " Would we use him again and would we recommend him to others ?" Yes we definitely would. We wish him well in his future endeavours in his chosen field. Fernanda - Honest, reliable, communication is fantastic and very professional. If we wanted something done, she would get onto it straight away and get back to us with regular updates. I had my son go to a lot of open homes as we are from out of Christchurch and Fernanda was the only agent who greeted him with a friendly smile and a joke or two, took time with him and answered all his questions while other potential buyers were looking through houses as well. NO other agents did this - including other Harcourts agents. Some were rude or even ignored him. Fernanda treats everyone equal and gives time and is very sincere. We would definitely go back to her if we were to sell or buy another house. Even though ours was an auction she help negotiate extras for us. Fernanda organised 4 viewings outside the normal open homes and even drove me to them since I was from out of Christchurch. Honestly can't find a fault!!
