About Michelle

Whakatane has been Michelle's home for over 42 years. The fact that she raised her family here truly is testament to her humble opinion that it is the best place to live: with beautiful coastlines, beaches and bush tracks, no wonder it’s known as the bay with plenty. She recently left a career of 37 years in the dental industry, her roles ranging from practice management to surgical assistant, where she relied on her abilities as a quick thinker and multitasker and became an expert at handling all sorts of situations under pressure. Meeting and helping people have always been a driver for Michelle; she loves the feeling you get when you make someone’s day better through even the smallest act of kindness. Although fairly new to the real estate industry, Michelle already has many success stories. She has also had lots of personal experiences with restoration projects, styling and staging, and she especially loves property presentation. For Michelle, the story of a real estate transaction does not just focus around the house, it’s about the people who live there and the difference you can make at this important junction in their lives. Her days off are spent enjoying time with family and friends, walking the local tracks, chilling in her garden and cooking yummy food.

About Michelle

“I have called the Eastern Bay home for over 50 years now, with our boys being raised here,” says Michelle Stephenson. The Bay certainly has plenty, from a great climate and lifestyle to a friendly community, gorgeous beaches, bush walks, and more. A decision to start a career in real estate at the end of 2003 after owning a business in Kawerau and Whakatane for many years has seen Michelle win a national and international franchise’s Client Experience Award and consistently rank in the top performers of their region group. She says, “And, after eighteen years in real estate, I’m still thrilled to be doing what I love!” The Bay’s community is an exceptional one, and Michelle helps wherever she can, from Education for Life, Dancing with the Stars, front of house for the Whakatane Theatrical Group, Hospice, Sunshine On a Plate, and supporting local sports teams by supplying shirts as well as schools where possible. In her downtime, you’ll likely find Michelle enjoying some gardening, reading, spending quality time with family and friends, or out and about enjoying a walk along the beach. I challenge any other agent to sell a property in a week, like Michelle did.

We vetted four real estate agents and came to the conclusion, Michelle is one out of the bag. Not only is Michelle very professional, but Michelle has a warm manner with excellent communication skills. Michelle kept us in the loop by phoning us on a regular basis to let us know how things were going. If it had of taken longer to sell, we would have received updated emails, but Michelle did an amazing job selling our house within a week. Her knowledge of the market and negotiating skills closed the deal promptly. It was a fair price and both parties were happy. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and journey with Michelle. Michelle worked well as a team with us, to complete the sale. We have bought or sold over 10 properties over the years and Michelle would be named as our number one person for the job. Michelle never gave up on us, and was always willing to go the extra mile to help get the sale done

Michelle was great to deal with, a constant professional who we always knew was working for us. No matter how long it seemed to be taking, she always gave it her all. Michelle constantly kept us up to date with everything that was happening with the sale and any potential buyers, even when it was just an update that she could not get a hold of anyone. Communication was always clear. She was always prepared to go the extra mile to drum up interest when it was needed, and it was always nice that her go to strategy was never to just lower the asking price. This shows her market knowledge as she was able to get us a price not far off where we had started, despite the time it sat on the market for.

AMAZING!! Outstanding Communication and Exceptional Service!!

Michelle was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process of purchasing our property on Owen Road. From day one, her communication was outstanding. We always knew exactly what was happening, what the next steps were, and where things were at. The whole process moved incredibly quickly, but Michelle was on top of everything every step of the way. Nothing was ever a problem, no question was too much trouble, and she was always available when we needed her. Clear and transparent
