About Jason

Jason’s father Max Eves started Eves Real Estate in Tauranga back in the late 1960s, however Jason’s path to a career in local real estate was not exactly straightforward... In earlier adult life, Jason qualified and practiced as a veterinary surgeon in NZ, Australia, UK and abroad, including for the Wildlife Rescue Rehabilitation and Sanctuary Division of the IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare). A highlight of this time was his leading of IFAW’s response team on the ground during the rescue of more than 50 big cats and other endangered animals from the Baghdad Zoo during the 2003 American invasion. This emotionally challenging, highly impactful rescue operation is the subject of the 2007 book Babylon’s Ark, written by South African conservationist Lawrence Anthony. Following his years practising in the veterinary field, Jason moved into the highly competitive pharma sales arena. As National Sales Manager for multi-national pharmaceutical company Pfizer, he reported directly to the CEO of Animal Health and ran seven territory managers and key accounts throughout the country. More recently, after what was intended only to be a gap year working on super yachts with his now-wife, Abigail, Jason spent 10 years working as operations manager for an ultra-high net worth individual in North America. This diverse role saw him advising on, negotiating and managing the acquisition and disposal of countless aircraft, yachts, vehicles and other luxury goods. Among other projects in the early years of this period, Jason managed the redevelopment of his employer’s 770-acre island in British Columbia (including establishing an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus golf course). Later, he converted the stable block of what was previously John Cleese’s Ranch in Southern California into a two hundred-million-dollar private car garage. Jason’s depth and breadth of experience in negotiating luxury property and other high-value goods is unlikely to be matched by another agent in New Zealand. Throughout his distinct international careers and the experiences each have afforded him, he has developed a phenomenal work ethic, absolute integrity, and he delivers nothing short of exceptional service to our clients at Oliver Road.

Sound reasoned advice and extremely professional

Jason, Ben and the Oliver Road team were excellent to deal with. They know the local market intimately and were able to provide feedback, advice and answer any technical questions in a timely manner throughout. They were also respectful of the time required to get a large house ready for viewings and ensured we had a good level of notice. They even pushed back politely when some potential purchasers were being a little unreasonable! The marketing and photography/videography were exemplary and showed the house to its best advantage. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Outstanding service and persistence in a challenging market

Throughout the entire process, Jason and Ben worked incredibly hard on our behalf. Their communication was excellent, they were always professional, and we genuinely felt they were working for us at every Jason and Ben remained positive, persistent and focused on getting us the right result. We’re very happy with the service we received and really appreciate the effort they both put in over such a long campaign. Selling a home in this market hasn’t been easy, and their commitment right through to the successful sale was outstanding. Very professional

Having just sold our beautiful home through Oliver Road Tauranga, I would like to offer our experience through the process. We first met with Jason and Ben at our property when we were looking to see who we would choose to represent us in the upper market range of properties. This was a very easy decision to make after that meeting. They gave us their time with no pressure, and their professionalism was outstanding. The journey has been a pleasant one from the beginning to the point of sale with them helping with the issues an overseas buyer has to weave their way through. Once sold, Oliver Road has continued to help us through the sale of our furniture and equipment and through it all, we have ended up with two new friends. Would I recommend them? Yes, absolutely. They are an extremely professional team and a pleasure to work with.
