We then started our search for property at The Mount remotely while being locked down in Auckland - scary not to be there for a life choice of such significant size. Amy did virtual viewings online for us, using video - she walked through houses we’d chosen to view - poking and prodding things we asked her to, spotting and pointing out things we didn’t see, and answering our questions either at the time or in a quick follow up once she’d got the detail. Throughout the process Miranda was very informative with sales data, updates on viewings in the area and even took the time to show me a property to compare with, prior to listing the property. Miranda also went the extra mile in many areas, from assisting with key pickups from our tenant, dropping off keys for the painters, organising the lawns to be mowed and arranging the staging of the property and washing a couple of curtains. Very good, Dirk explained quickly the property showing me its best features, he then gave ideas about how I could add a bathroom to the upstairs main bedroom. He was helpful in explaining the probate issues so that I could coordinate with my lawyer to make it work, not straight forward in the current Covid climate.

Dirk Merwe and Eves real estate were recommended to me by our lawyer in Mt. Maunganui who has a high level of trust and experience in the Mount and knows the area well. Dirk was very easy to contact and work with and he and his staff showed a high level of enthusiasm to get the property sold. The property was marketed through all the normal channels along with open homes and private visits. Visit reports were received each week and Dirk made a number of good suggestions to help tidy the place ready for sale. Even though Auckland & the Waikato were in level 3 lock down, the auction was successful and achieved the expected valuation range (at the lower end). The auction finished below reserve, but Dirk & Trevor managed to negotiate another 25K from the purchaser. Overall, a good outcome. Dirk and his team made the whole process very easy, and I'd be happy to employ them again.
