There was no pressure and no rushing. Whenever I had a concern, he addressed it calmly and clearly, and it usually turned out not to be an issue. Steven was very responsive and kept me well informed. We received three pre-auction offers and the house was sold after a little more than two weeks on the market, which I was very pleased with. Steven was such a pleasure to work with, from the first initial query call to organise a house viewing, to meeting him in person. He was very approachable and down to earth. He had plenty of knowledge about the property as well as the market, we could easily have an honest conversation with him. He answered all our questions, was very patient and was accommodating to our many requests. Having a sense of humour and empathy helped us during this very stressful time of house hunting. Steven communicated very well on phone, text and emails, and replied very quickly. Steven began well by offering so much and guaranteeing all we hoped for. Initially communication was very good. Steven was enthusiastic and very keen, positive and gave us great confidence. Then it turned. The price dropped very soon. We were made to feel we had no idea, were out of touch and needed to shift our expectations. Within two months Steven talked us in to dropping $500000 on a $1.6m property. The price he agreed it was worth. He no longer listened but continuously repeated the same message. ‘The market has dropped. This is what the purchasers say’ He urged and pushed us to sell with veiled threats that we would lose big time if we did not sell NOW. On top of this he tried to charge the same commission even though the price dropped by 33%. We had this changed. The friendly communicator turned to brisk and brusk with very limited scope for ideas or alternatives. We are disappointed in the sale. Yes it was our decision but we made it under pressure and from a distance. Steven did not represent our wishes but simply wanted a sale. We had two properties listed with Steven and pulled the second.
