When I was preparing my North Shore Auckland home for sale, I reached out to several realtors for their 'no obligation quotes' to see which one would be best suited for my unique circumstance. I had a near-impossible task - to list, advertise, and hopefully have an unconditional sales agreement in-hand within 3 weeks as I had found my dream property and needed to sell ASAP in order to make an offer. Barry was truly the only realtor to listen to me and acknowledge my concerns, as well as provide the confidence of being an industry veteran during my listing with him. I chose Barry as all other realtors essentially refused to sell my property by any means other than an auction. I specifically did NOT want an auction on my property as I was keen to help a first time buyer of family purchase the property, rather than forcing multiple people to eventually be disappointed with losing out on the auction. Throughout the sales process with Barry, it was apparent to me why I selected him - he is an expert negotiator and worked for me to get the deal done and made my dream come true of making it possible to purchase my dream home, in addition to his 20+ years of local real estate expertise. I realised exactly why at that stage all other realtors push their vendors to the auction route - they either have minimal negotiating skills, or none at all, and the auction is the way of a more or less guaranteed sale and higher commission.
