Throughout the selling of a family home 5 months ago, Matt was a pleasure to work with. We felt we could trust him on our initial meeting and he never let us down. Since the sale of our dads home Matt has facilitated the sale and purchase of another 2 homes/land within our family.

We were first invited to give feedback on your agent Matt Gilmour on 28 July 2020 after the purchase of our property at 9 Kath Hopper Drive, Orewa. We decided not to do the review request after having experienced no contact or feedback upon completing these in the past. Matt Gilmour. Nice guy, friendly and professional in his manner and dealings. Knows the market well and was very helpful considering the fact that most buyers tell the agent exactly what they want and then buy something completely different and we were in some ways much like that. We eventually bought this property at Auction on 1 March with a settlement date of 1 April. During this time we found response to our phone messages, texts or emails from Matt were taking some time to the extent that when we did our final house inspection on 25th March prior to Covid 19 lockdown he was not in attendance so we did the inpection without him. We arranged with the sellers to leave keys with the neighbour when they left the property on the 1st April and they kindly kept in touch with us during lockdown. We were eventually able to move in on 18th May after having work done on the property. From the time of the property inspection on 25th March until now we have had no contact with Matt at all other than one day about 5 weeks after we moved in when Jeanette was working in the garden and Matt was delivering flyers. They had a chat and Matt remarked “I must drop in with a couple of bottles of wine” We have bought and sold four homes over the last 9 years and we have found service in general from the Real Estate Industry to be lacking to the extreme. Our experience with Matt has been OK apart from communication but we do not think he is on his own in this regard. Buying and selling a home can be quite stressful especially with older people. I hope these remarks can be seen as positive and be of help in the long run to all agents within your company.

Matt Gilmour and four other agents in the Orewa area were given the opportunity to sell our house, however there was a catch......the house had to be sold in 5 days. The reason for this was, we had an offer on our dream home near the beach in Orewa, however this was conditional on the sale of our house. A dreaded second offer came in and we had 5 working days to sell our house. Our house was not even on the market, however market ready. Matt worked tirelessly to find us a buyer, making 100 plus phone calls. He then did what we thought was the impossible.......he presented us with an offer, cash unconditional with 2 days to spare. The offer was on the money and we were to say the least, shell shocked. We will forever be grateful for what Matt did and how hard he worked. Matt went the extra mile to provide all documentation around the home purchase, to the extent that he visited the Auckland Council on our behalf to clarify information and went with us to ask questions of the building inspector. He was very informative at all times and fronted to see us as soon as possible during negotiations. We felt that he was always honest and that this was vital when negotiating to purchase a home. We highly recommend Matt to any prospective home purchaser or seller.
