From the very outset Russell displayed professionalism, expertise and a knowledge of the Upper Hutt property market that is second to none. Right from the initial market appraisal, Russell provided guidance, support and advice to us and most importantly made it absolutely clear what our options were in terms of how to add the most value to the property before sale and the types of sales approach we could choose to get the best outcome. We decided to renovate the property before sale and again Russell was always checking in on progress and offering help and advice along the way. I found Russell to be fantastic From the time I asked for an appraisal until the house sold I also got appraisals from other agencies I chose Russell because he was very friendly and knowledgeable and didn't try to add extra costs for example staging of the house and extra advertising fees which I thought were unnecessary costs Everything was inclusive we discussed extra advertising if the house were to sit on the market for an extended amount of time which wasn't required I was kept updated at all times regarding open homes feedback from people who viewed the house and also how the overall market was doing I would highly recommend Russell and would definitely use him again if I needed There was also great support from tall poppy on a whole as well

Russ is a nice guy and helped us get the property onto the market with plastering and staging at the beginning of March. We thought we were off to a good start. However once the property didn't sell within 2 weeks, Russ seemed to loose interest. We found that while there was a good turn out to open homes, purchasers were not followed up. There was no information regarding thoughts on the property or price other than they liked it. We found that Russ did not seem to understand some of the subtle and not-so subtle parts of his job. We struggled to get the listing completed with all of the properties features. One of these being the number of toilets. Others were having his car parked in the entrance to the driveway (it's a back section) making the entrance feel uninviting and blocked, attempting to move most of the staging before an offer, causing a heated argument for both parties. He failed to see that these things were a problem. A not so subtle instance of Russ not understanding his job was when we were in negotiations with a potential buyer. It took multiple offer/counter offers, as is usual, but Russ gave us a clear impression he was on the buyers side and was encouraging us to take the second offer when we think the deal was done on the fourth. A condition that we disputed, he was adamant that the purchaser would not budge on when he presented it to us changed to she didn't even understand it's implications and was happy to remove it once presented to her. Vendors would like to have every confidence that their agent was working hard to negotiate the last possible dollar from the deal. We didn't have that confidence at all.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Russell while purchasing a property, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Russ was amazing from the very start of thinking of selling right through to the very end. His knowledge in the real estate game was a huge bonus for us as this was our first time selling. He explained all the big unknown words to us in a way that would make sense. He kept excellent communication, so we knew exactly what was happening all the time. With the market not as good as it had been, he still managed to get a price that we were happy with in only 3 weeks. I would go with Russell again, if we were to sell.

Russ knew his stuff which was good cause we had lot knowledge. I new market was getting tough but the advice Russ gave re how to market and price movements was key for us.
