We were disappointed at the estimated sale price the agents gave us at open homes and in follow up conversations. It was $90,000 off the reserve price and the price we purchased it for. Either, a terrible tactic to get people to the open homes / auction rooms or the agents weren’t educated on comparable sales & the local market. Thankfully we’d done our own research and knew what it was worth. We also didn’t receive any congratulatory gift after purchase, typically industry practice. In fact, my last house purchase was for a smaller amount and we received a pizza oven. Besides from being there at our pre settlement inspection, we didn’t receive any support from the agents, no contact after open homes, no contact after I requested the property documents, in fact the agents didn’t recognise me when I walked into the auction room. We rang to ask a question after auction and our number wasn’t even saved in his phone.
