Rachel can’t help herself from helping other people. Whether it’s to find someone the right home, or as a Civil Defence volunteer, Neighbourhood Support coordinator, or chair of ‘The Centre’ – Ōmokoroa’s community shop which has raised over $100,000 in the past decade to give back to local not-for-profit groups. Originally from the UK, Rachel arrived in Ōmokoroa in 2009 with her husband, Martin, and their three young children (twin boys and a daughter who are now all aged in their 20s). She immediately fell in love with the place thanks to the stunning seaside views and friendly locals. People are the heart and soul of Ōmokoroa and Rachel loves to walk, read and roll up her sleeves by volunteering her time for good causes. She says the pace of life here is pretty hard to beat, and there’s always plenty of smiles and good coffee on offer! In the UK she enjoyed a career in finance, working as CFO of a print and design company, and Credit Controller at a brewery. Rachel became a real estate agent in 2012 and decided to launch Your Real Estate to prove things could be done differently in a kind and caring way while still achieving awesome sales results. Seeing people find the right home, and piecing together the vendor/buyer jigsaw puzzle to get the right outcome, is what she loves most.

Simon is an Ōmokoroa-based agent who genuinely loves helping people take their next step, whether that’s buying, selling, or simply getting clarity around what’s possible. With a background in sales and marketing, Simon began his career with a multinational pharmaceutical company working alongside vets and farmers, before building his own people development business. Along the way, he’s delivered training in communication, leadership, and team effectiveness for organisations including Disney, DHL, Lion Breweries, The Warehouse Group and local councils here in The Bay of Plenty . Those experiences shaped the way he works today: clear communication, building strong, trusting relationships, and doing what he says he’ll do. Ōmokoroa has been home for 7.5 years for Simon, his wife Jane, and their two children, and he’s proud to be actively involved in the local community, serving on the OPS Board and The Ōmokoroa Centre Charitable Trust, as well as supporting groups like The Playcentre, the Ōmokoroa Business Network and TEDx Ōmokoroa. Outside of work, you’ll usually find him on the sidelines of kids’ sport, attempting (and enjoying) golf, or catching up with friends around Ōmokoroa.

With family connections and long-standing ties to the Western Bay of Plenty, I’m proud to now focus on Katikati and the surrounding areas.
