•I found Lisa's communication style unhelpful and at times immensely irritating. Speak less, know more. In my first encounter I was encouraged to put in a formal offer, even though I knew it was very very unlikely to succeed. My offer was used by Lisa to make another buyer's offer look good. ie: used as leverage. Fair enough. When Lisa rang and said that the vendors of a 2nd place I had put an offer in on were willing to now negotiate lower, I used the opportunity to try and get another apartment in the same complex for the same agreed value. When, as a courtesy, I informed Lisa of this she started babbling, almost hysterical. I asked her to leave it for 3 or 4 hours. She couldn't and kept spouting nonsensical rubbish. It took me 3 goes to get her to hang up. In short, I was simply doing what she had already done to me... used the situation as leverage. My offer was conditional on my viewing the place. The tenants in it were not expecting us so we had to wait while they left. The place was a complete tip and it was impossible to actually get an idea of the place. There was stuff everywhere. When I tried to set up the pre purchase inspection, Lisa first said I had to go through the lawyer, then, said it might be Anzac day (weeks earlier then April 25) W-h-a-t?? I could hear someone in the office trying to correct her. The place was left dirty and with faults. But the Vendor's lawyer wouldn't budge on anything because that's how it had been. How do you see anything when its a complete tip? I think showing a place in that state is unprofessional and quite frankly, I'm really annoyed at the way it was all handled.
We loved working with Lisa, she was so helpful and positive. That was something that we really valued, it can be really stressful selling a home (especially one that we'd loved and lived in for years) and Lisa's positivity and drive was exactly the kind of support we needed to sell our first home. We had a particularly tricky set of circumstances with selling the home, we had tenants in there and we were based in Christchurch, so couldn't easily assess the property. Lisa acted as a great go-between with the tenants, getting property as presentable as possible for all the open homes. She also made herself available for us to ask questions whenever they would pop up and had great, open communication with us. We were always clear on what was happening, any feedback, and what the plan was at different stages. Super grateful for all of Lisa's help and support.
