Inconsistent communication and a frustrating settlement process

Unfortunately, our experience as buyers was frustrating. From the outset, we were given conflicting information between the agent and the vendor, which made it difficult to understand what was actually possible. While Nick was helpful initially, communication became noticeably less helpful after the deposit was received. Proposed settlement dates were discussed and agreed, only to be declined only once being confirmed by solicitors. Our final inspection was refused on two proposed dates — one declined by the vendor and another declined by the agent — which forced us to cancel work commitments. Our lawyers advised that refusing reasonable final inspection access was not consistent with contractual obligations. Pre-settlement access was denied, and even after settlement was completed, access to the property was delayed by approximately an hour and a half after legally owning the house. Overall, the process lacked clarity, consistency, and cooperation.
