A successful outcome to our instruction “sell it.”
We wanted the property sold. Harcourts sold it. It is as simple as that.
From our first interview with the Agent Principal, David Findlay, to the final documentation produced by Julie Kelman-Poto, the whole procedure ran as smooth as silk.
As this review is meant to be about Sarah Tiplady, we had better introduce her at this stage. The selling team were Sarah and Julie, with Winnie providing Chinese liaison as necessary. Sarah and Julie were responsible for the front-line work of running open homes and following up prospective buyers. Sarah in particular spent a lot of time working with us, the Executors, preparing the house for sale. Her attention to detail was amazing, placing flowers, ornaments, books, furniture, bed linen etc very strategically so that the house, although vacant, looked as if it was still loved and lived-in. She also advised on required maintenance to the grounds and swimming pool.
The house was sold by auction, with Julie and the Principal of Harcouts liaising between ourselves and the auctioneer at every point where we were required to decide whether to lower the reserve or accept conditional bids. The auction was successful.
Julie kept us advised throughout with regard to the documentation required, up to and including the receipt of the deposit.
In summary, we were very happy with the performance of Sarah and Julie and, of course, of the members of the Harcourts team in achieving a successful outcome to our instruction “sell it.”
