Seven years ago when we bought our house Christchurch, we were ably assisted in navigating the New Zealand Real Estate world by Kim Ric-Hansen, acting as our Buyer's Agent. Unfortunately, we could only enjoy our home for nine months, before work circumstances forced our relocation to Auckland. When we decided six years later that we were unlikely to return to Christchurch, we naturally turned to Harcourts and Kim to assist us in selling our house. Kim had in the meantime progressed in her career to managing the Harcourts Gold sales team, so assigned Nick Dwan to our cause. Due to having already made an offer on an Auckland property conditional on selling in Christchurch, Nick was faced with the unenviable task of preparing a campaign, knocking a property that had seen four tenants in six years into a saleable condition, and going to auction in time to meet our purchase settlent date. He hit the ground running, and ran Open Homes at a frequency we thought not to be possible. When auction day came and there were no bidders in the room our spirits sank, but Nick just calmly let us know that he was running another Open Home that same Thursday evening, and more over the weekend! Thankfully, by the Friday evening he could inform us that we were in a multi-offer situation, and after a couple of tense days the offer we decided on went unconditional, and will settle in time for our purchase with a day to spare. Our thanks to Nick (and Kim for having full confidence in him) for committing to the challenge, and piloting our sale into safe harbour.
