Empathy and local knowledge made all the difference

When my 18 year old daughter and friend walked into an open home for a $1m+ property, she could have been dismissed as a nosy kid. Jan didn't do that, and in fact treated her with professionalism and a whole lot of warmth. Two days later, and without seeing the property for myself, I bought the house. I'm not in the habit of buying properties sight unseen. This was only the second house I've purchased, and a lot has changed since I bought my first house 25 years ago. Jan guided me through the purchase process with patience and experience. That steadiness was appreciated when things felt hectic and nervy for me. As my 18 year old says, "Jan is real chill". I get that Jan's obligation was to the vendor in this deal, but I feel I was very fairly treated. Fairness is a rare commodity these days. Jan's strong connections with the local community have been super helpful to me. I've really appreciated her willingness to give advice and suggestions while I've been coordinating things from a different city. Jan understood what I was trying to accomplish, and when she said to me "Sometimes it's about getting good outcomes for good people", it had authenticity that matched my experience of working with her.
