These are challenging times to sell, especially with demanding buyers. However, as clients, we expect our agent to work in our best interests rather than give in to undue buyer pressure. While communication was inconsistent and we often had to chase for updates, we also felt the agent focused more on the buyer's priorities and became defensive when reminded he worked for us. The buyer’s last-minute price reduction attempt on settlement day was poorly handled by the agent, causing higher solicitor fees. The agent tried to pressured us to accept the buyer's demands despite meeting our contractual obligations, which was disproved when the buyer failed to achieve a further price reduction. A more client-focused and proactive approach would have been a more equitable process that honored all parties involved.
