Hello everyone in the market to buy or sell property. I recently sold my home in Napier with David Cairns (Harcourts) who went above and beyond to work on my behalf with council, builders, electricians, plumbers and stylists to get my property signed off compliant and eventually sold. It was a process that took a full year due to delays with council inspections and finding contractors but David stuck with it and coordinated the whole thing (as I live in Australia). I did not have to fly home even once, he kept me updated, he gave great suggestions and put me in contact with the right people. We exchanged countless emails/phone calls/texts....over a YEAR!... if that doesn't show dedication....nothing will. He is professional, he is friendly....he's just lovely. 😊 Can I recommend him....yes 100%. I would work with him again in a heartbeat. The best of this story is left for last....after council compliance was given, David listed, marketed and showed buyers through....we had a signed contract in 6 days....from the first open home....the money is in the bank and I am free to move on. I can tell you, after a year of waiting on works, to list and sign in the same week was a cherry 🍒 on top like you would not believe. I am so happy and grateful for David's help in getting us there that I tried to leave a testimonial on his Facebook page but could not....so here it is in email form. Having rented out my property for 12 months whilst overseas, I new nearing the end of this timeframe a decision re our family home needed to be made? Once decision was made to sell there was one agent I knew I could trust implicitly and that was 'David Cairns'. As soon as I reached out he put the wheels into action on top of that we had the beginnings of both a global pandemic and an empty, unfurnished home. David was not phased at all and put me in touch with a designer that specialised in home staging. Once myself and designer discussed and agreed the 'vibe' that best suited the home and location. Both parties wasted no time in getting to work. Necessary updates and communication was given regularly by David every step of the way. I felt David really listened and took on board my viewpoint re price point etc. Within 3 weeks an amazing offer was made and accepted :). What really impressed me was when I realised a sentimental item had been left at property. David went in his own time with power tool to remove and liaised with a friend to arrange to be added to my storage. When we decided to sell our property in Napier, we phone a couple of agents. David responded very quickly and turned up with a pleasant demeanour and a big smile. He was perfectly content with the plans we had in place which was to sell but not because until later. The photos he took were great and the initial marketing and signage were great. Open homes were stress free, as we're other casual viewings. All offers were presented professionally. He was even able to negotiate a rental contract with the new owners.
