I have recently used Charles Digby of Property Brokers as the agent to sell my one hectare lifestyle block at Eureka in the Waikato. The house on the block is 108 years old, and required some work on the outside paintwork to bring it up to standard. My son did some of this, but when it became apparent that more would be needed than he had time for, Charles contacted a friend with a painting business. The owner swiftly turned up and assessed the job, quoted a reasonable price, and sent two of his workers that afternoon and for the next day. Charles raised some other requirements for a successful sale and practically supported all efforts to achieve these. Charles had spent most of his working life as a sheep and beef farmer, and this knowledge was very useful in assessing the worth of the property and the best ways to find homes for the goats, cows and donkeys living there. The two open homes attracted a large number of potential buyers, which Charles managed well, and we received a decent and open offer within ten days of hitting the market. The sale had been advertised as Deadline Offer, but due to the early bid we shortened the date. Eventually there were three offers, and we accepted the highest and original one. The buyers wanted a quick move by both parties and this was achieved very rapidly, in a few days after settlement. Throughout the process Charles was a fountain of good advice, practical help, and wholehearted support.
