Bruce grew up in South Epsom as part of a large family affectionately referred to as “the Manning Mob”, with all attending Royal Oak Primary School.
After completing his education at Auckland Grammar, Bruce embarked on a varied and adventurous career - from working as a lift operator on Mt Ruapehu to spending time aboard American tuna boats. Alongside these experiences, he also achieved two degrees: a Bachelor of Science from the University of Otago, followed by a Master of Science in Marine Biology from the University of Auckland.
Bruce then joined the very first intake of MAF Fisheries Observers, spending extended periods at sea gathering independent data on catch volumes and species across both international and local vessels within New Zealand’s 200-mile exclusive economic zone.
While life at sea was certainly unique, it eventually led Bruce to pursue a land-based career - and real estate became the natural next step.
Now approaching 40 years in the industry, Bruce brings an exceptional depth of experience. Having worked as a salesperson, branch manager, and franchise owner, there are very few situations he hasn’t encountered, and successfully navigated, before. Over that time, he has experienced a number of real estate cycles, giving him a balanced perspective and the ability to offer calm, considered advice in changing markets.
He has personally sold around 60 homes in Mangere Bridge, approximately 150 across Onehunga and One Tree Hill, and many more throughout Auckland - from Papatoetoe to Parnell. In addition, his leadership roles have seen him guide and support countless other successful salespeople.
Bruce has also played an active role in his local community, serving nine years as Chairperson of the Mangere Bridge Business Association, during which time the association received the inaugural Business Improvement District of the Year award from Manukau City Council.
What truly sets Bruce apart is not just his experience, but his approach.
Bruce is a licensed Agent as well as an Associate of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (AREINZ). This gives him a comprehensive understanding of his responsibilities to his clients - but just as importantly, he is known for his calm, patient and genuinely caring nature.
He takes the time to ensure his clients feel informed, supported, and confident - particularly those who may need extra guidance or are navigating more complex or emotional situations.
Now part of Auckland’s leading real estate company, Bruce offers a level of knowledge, reassurance and service that is hard to match.
