We had not had much luck with our offers on previous properties so didn’t hold out a lot of hope initially when we visited one of Marc’s listings but he went over and above to keep us in the loop and provided great advice along the way. Marc is very personable and while he (as all agents do) was working in the best interests of the vendor we always felt very supported and his help ultimately got our offer over the line which we are incredibly grateful for. Selling a house is something that most people do only occasionally, if at all. It is also likely to be the largest single transaction one makes, and requires specialized legal and technical knowledge. Hence the engagement of a qualified estate agent. Some seven years earlier we had sold our family home and had not been fully satisfied with the deal recommended by our then-agents. It turned out that the purchasers, who according to the agents could not afford any more than their first offer, managed within a few months to add a new double car two storey garage/workshop. We were therefore interested when a friend recommended Marc Walker. It became clear that he is careful in his selection of commissions - selling "flippers" and their ilk, where defects may be hidden by a thin coat of paint, can lead only to disappointment. Marc is also careful with potential buyers, matching their requirements to available properties. This avoids wasting time and effort showing properties to parties that are very unlikely to make an offer. Marc explained the state of the property market, distinguishing between hopes and likely realities. (In the end of the price achieved was less than hoped for but more than expected, which was satisfactory.) The marketing material produced by Marc's team was of high quality and was both informative and readable. The photographs, especially those of the exterior, made the property look very attractive without in any way distorting reality. The marketing campaign went through several phases. At first there was little indication of price apart from the RV, at that time severely overrated. Once it was possible to gauge how much a keen buyer might be prepared to pay, a minimum price was indicated. Then Marc Specified a date by which offers were to be received. Lastly, he negotiated an increased price with the leading buyer. At all stages he kept us informed of developments.
