With over 6,500 property transactions, John and Michelle van Lienen are real
estate experts, supported by their outstanding Team JVL - Kristen Lowndes and
Tracy Eagles.
Born in the Manawatu, John and Michelle started their careers in 1986. Their
passion for real estate has only grown, now combining with a new level of
professionalism that consistently delivers impressive results.
John began with Property Brokers in 1986, becoming the company’s top
salesperson before transitioning to management. Michelle started as an
administrator the same year, quickly moving into sales and becoming number
one at Unique Realty, followed by Property Brokers.
In 1999, they established JVL Prestige Realty, known for its innovative
marketing and benchmark property prices. At its peak, the agency employed
32 staff and was named Australasian Boutique Real Estate Agency of the Year
by the Real Estate Results Network in 2012. After 15 years of success, they
sold JVL Prestige Realty to Bayley’s Corporation in 2014.
From 2014-2019, they returned to sales with Bayley’s Manawatu as Team JVL,
becoming the region’s top agents and ranking in the top 20 for Bayley’s New
Zealand.
In 2020, John and Michelle seized the opportunity to introduce New Zealand
Sotheby’s International Realty to the Manawatu, recognising the region’s
growing international workforce and demand for a higher level of service. They
believe local sellers deserve more than just national exposure, making
Sotheby’s truly global reach an invaluable asset.
