Initially, I found the agent proactive and easy to communicate with. The agent pushed the deal through efficiently. However, issues arose during the lead-up to settlement where the agent abdicated responsibility. > > The agent assured me the seller was willing to offer an earlier settlement date than they were actually able to offer, and I made key decisions based on that assertion. This led to unnecessary stress, confusion, and back-and-forth between lawyers as I tried to secure the date I had relied on. > > More significantly, I was led to believe the elderly owner had only recently moved into care & had been living at the property until recently. I discovered well after settlement that the owner had moved out five years earlier. The vendors were the owner's children, who hadn’t lived in the house. This meant the property should have been sold with no vendor warranties and priced accordingly. > > There were multiple undisclosed issues with the house that only became apparent after settlement. Importantly had I known the property had been a rental for five years rather than owner-occupied, I would have viewed it very differently. > > Additionally, the agent rushed us through the building report process, and key problems that should have been uncovered were missed. > > I wasn’t invited to leave a review on RateMyAgent and had to chase it down myself.
