A very unsettling experience overall
We phoned the agent Katie Harrison of Harcourts Four Seasons Rolleston, Christchurch to put in an offer on a Thursday for 96 Shepherd Ave, West Melton - the agent pushed us out to the Monday following as didn't have time to come and write up the sales and purchase agreement until then, due to there being a long weekend ahead. In this instance of the time-frame it bought in another offer - which then made it a multi offer which was pretty frustrating as we lost. No back up offer was offered or submitted until the first sale fell through.
Communication was poor right through to settlement. We tried to arrange a time to come to the property after we had paid the deposit to take measurements of the land beside the shed and never heard back for a time to do this.
We settled on the 12th April and only received the key the agent held on the 7th May.
We have a property now with security cameras and alarms which there are no instructions for and feel the agent should have had this information for us after requesting, from the vendor as it was in the chattels.
Overall, a very emotional/stressful and draining experience which could have been made easy with the right customer service and care.
Possibly a great agent for Vendors but purchasers please be mindful.
