Steeped in history 6 Orr Street is a 1908 Villa built for a local family before being commandeered by the NZ Police in 1912. Many a story will be held within the walls as the earlier Policemen dealt with the riff and raff from within the villa until a purpose built new police station was added to the property in 1950. Relinquished by the NZ Police in 1989 the property has since been in the safe keeping of a local family who have painstakingly cared for and sympathetically renovated, to create a warm and welcoming family home while retaining the character and charm from earlier days. The hub of family living is the cheery kitchen and living area, which enjoys access to a sheltered barbeque area, and has an adjoining spacious separate lounge with polished floors and ornate timber ceiling. A true family home there are four bedrooms, two enjoy the luxury of access to the rolled top veranda, a large family bathroom and separate toilet.
