I have a talent for matching the right tenants with the right property, and thanks to my finely honed problem-solving skills and open direct communication style, I usually find it easy to keep everyone happy. I grew up on a dairy farm in Otaua, on the outskirts of Waiuku and after completing a Bachelor of Education, for six enjoyable years teaching in schools in the Franklin area. Working and living in the Franklin/Waiuku area you really appreciate the great outdoors. Stunning rural landscapes and the wild and beautiful black sand beach of Karioitahi is just 8kms away. With three children, a husband and a cat, family life is busy when I’m not working. On the weekends, we like to support the local cafes and restaurants and explore the beautiful coastline and the many great walking tracks in the Franklin area. I really enjoy networking and providing my customers with excellent service. My ultimate aim, with every client, is to create a positive outcome. In one way or another, real estate and property has been a part of my working life. My career so far has included roles as a home-staging assistant and also as a show home hostess. For the last nine years I’ve been a PA to a successful Barfoot & Thompson real estate salesperson in Waiuku. Barfoot & Thompson’s primary focus is on the Auckland and Northland property markets. This focus ensures that they know the Auckland property market better than any other New Zealand real estate company. Their strength as a company comes from their people who support each other every day to satisfy their clients with honesty and transparency. I’ve lived in Waiuku for nine years and I love it. I love that I can live a rural village life while only one hour from the city. The walkways and beaches are perfect for walking my three small dogs, and the local surf beach, Kariotahi, is perfect for boogie boarding, a favourite pastime of mine in the summer. I am married and together with my husband, we enjoy gatherings with friends and family. I am an avid gardener and I like to support St Johns, Surf Life Saving, Dementia and the Cancer Foundation. Whether it’s family, friends or those I meet through work, it’s people that make my life meaningful. Helping my rental clients find that special place to call home and taking care of my landlords’ investments is the part of my job I find most rewarding. Growing up in Waiuku and now raising my own family here alongside my extended family, I have a strong connection to the area. Being a small, close-knit community, it’s easier to get to know tenants, landlords and their properties. I love working for Barfoot & Thompson, as the company’s values of ‘family and community’ align with my own. The office culture at our Waiuku branch is particularly supportive and caring – we are all on board when it comes to backing local events and organisations, and doing good in the community. Before coming to property management, initially I was a stay-at-home mum. I then worked in the recruitment and marketing sectors - the similarities to real estate are quite uncanny! As a recruitment consultant, I helped match people with jobs, a little bit like matching people with homes. And in the marketing field, it was my job to promote the buying and selling of a company’s products and services – this background definitely informs what I do today. I am married with three children and two cats and I enjoy spending time with my family at the local beaches, drinking coffee with friends and basically enjoying the little everyday things in life.
