It was coincidence or fate that I found a Barfoot and Thompson flyer with Mary's contact details in my letterbox just a few weeks before I need to look for an agent to sell our house. And usually I would have put it in the recycle bin already but I didn't. From the moment I contacted Mary, she has been an absolute star. She is friendly and very approachable. Mary is very knowledgeable with the current market and she is also very resourceful. She explained clearly what all our options were and guided us through the whole marketing process with regular updates. “When it comes to real estate agents, I cannot recommend Mary Du highly enough. She was contacted by my daughter-in-law, and from the moment Mary became involved, there was nothing that was too much trouble. Mary organized home staging, made excellent suggestions for presentation of the property, and guided my son and daughter-in-law throughout the whole process. She reassured them when they got nervous, explained the process from start to finish, and worked tirelessly to bring in every potential buyer she could. It was like dealing with a friend, and she was more than happy to speak to me on several occasions, and I wasn’t even her client- just the (yes, overly protective) mother/mother-in-law. On the day, the sales price Mary managed to achieve well exceeded our expectations. We were one of the under bidder of a property that Mary advertised. Since then, she went out of her way to help us and contact potential sellers with similar properties. 3 December 2020 To Whom it may Concern Mary Du - Real Estate Agent for Barfoot & Thompson In November 2020, we approached Mary Du, a real estate agent for Barfoot and Thompson, because we had decided to sell a 4-bedroom terrace property in Stonefeilds. The property was tenanted at the time which added a layer of complexity to selling the property and meant that the agent we chose, had to be capable of effectively liaising with both our tenant, our property manager and also ourselves throughout the process. Mary did an absolutely outstanding job, arranging the open home times with the tenant and also dealing with buyers who needed to see the property outside of those standard times in ways that caused the least disruption to our tenant. Throughout the 3-week auction programme, she also provided us with detailed written updates each week about each person that went through the property, plus information about numbers of views and hits online on the various websites where the property was advertised. Come auction day, even after our property was passed in, Mary persisted in her negotiations with the interested parties and obtained a sale within half an hour of the auction closing. We can’t recommend Mary highly enough! Mary kept us fully informed every step of the way, through the weekly update meeting, calls and emails. She was very friendly, polite and hard working. Mary has the bonus skill of being able to talk fluently to the Chinese clientele, which was helpful while our house was on the market. We were very pleased with the service we received from Mary and would happily recommend her.
