I had appraisals from three local real estate agents. My choice of Deb Starr was largely on personality - she's a delightful, normal and relaxed Kiwi who understood exactly what my needs were - I was wanting to sell my home of 31 years prior to moving to a retirement village. Her knowledge of the local St Heliers market was also excellent - she works from Ray White's Remuera office but lives in St Heliers. Deb's advice on marketing was spot-on and resulted in lots of interest. She also advised me on presentation and brought around a few of her own draperies for the photo shoot. Deb held 10 open homes plus a number of private viewings, with assistance from her very pleasant husband, Trevor. In a depressed market, I wasn't confident of getting the price I needed. I had opted for auction but, 5 days prior to auction, Deb called with an attractive offer subject to taking the property off the market. I agreed to that, the deposit was received next day and papers signed the following day. The property was only on the market for 30 days. I received a price adequate for my retirement home purchase and ongoing needs and my home was sold to a delightful young couple who appear to value my home and garden as much as I did.
