Having gone live on 29 July 2022 (non auction) and not sold until 16 February 2023 (auction) both my wife and I and our Agents (Trevor Morris & Debbie Towers) encountered a declining market, so extreme, that none of us could have anticipated. The continued efforts on our behalf were appreciated and whilst we all were disappointed in the final price achieved, it was not through lack of effort on the part of our Agents.

In October 2020, when it came time to sell a home owned jointly by my wife and I (we are from Invercargill), and our son in Cambridge, Trevor Morris was the only choice, having witnessed his professionalism and integrity when the property was purchased in late 2014, when Trevor acted for the vendor at the time. Trevor and his team exceeded our expectations on every front, including advice on preparation of the property, suggesting tradespersons and contractors who could undertake decorating and landscaping of the property, monitoring the progress of all this work, and keeping us informed throughout (sometimes daily, either by phone or email) of important steps both before and while the property was being marketed, including prompt reports after each open home. Trevor and his team knew exactly when the property was ready to be marketed, and provided us with any feedback from prospective buyers promptly. Ahead of auction day, we had a helpful discussion with the auctioneer, and it is a gross understatement to say that we were overwhelmed by the way in which the property was marketed, and the result obtained. Importantly, from our perspective, Trevor treated all interested buyers with courtesy and respect as, of course, until the property is sold, no-one knows which of the prospective buyers would ultimately be the highest bidder. Integral to the whole process of dealing with Trevor is the integrity that Trevor brings to the process. If only we could persuade Trevor to relocate to Invercargill to sell our house in five years, when we intend retiring. We are very fortunate to have had Trevor as our real estate agent, and are very grateful for his assiduous and professional approach to selling the property.
