The property we have just sold through Tim and Tall Poppy was a difficult one to sell as it is absolutely unique and unusual - three 100+ year old buildings, in an isolated country village, with 14 small blocks of land. In addition, the current real estate market in New Zealand is a difficult one for sellers. Nonetheless, we did sell, and Tim was, without a doubt, far the best real estate agent I've ever worked with. Over the time that we worked together we became real friends at a personal level. I've bought and sold real estate in several countries around the world, including three properties in New Zealand, so I know a great real estate agent when I see one. Tim was simply the best. Here are a few of Tim's many strengths: 1. a really pleasant personality, easily establishing rapport with enquirers 2. enthusiastic and going way beyond the call of duty. Two examples: we were living overseas, and at one point the water system failed. He fixed it. Another example: before the ultimate buyers looked at the property Tim personally paid for a commercial clean of the three very large buildings at his own expense. 3. a sales style that showed integrity and avoided the "hard sell". Tim was obviously good at presenting the pluses - but also willing to listen carefully to any misgivings that buyers may have had about our property. 4. good at keeping the us informed - about property visits, new developments etc. 5. a great deal of persistence and patience. Even though selling our property was not easy Tim remained focused on the job. During the sale period, we signed four sale and purchase agreements with prospective buyers - but the first three all collapsed due to financing and related challenges of the buyers, so a typical agent would have lost some interest. But despite all the frustrations, Tim remained relentlessly positive and upbeat with a strong eye on the final outcome.

Tim is knowledgeable and proactive. From the first meeting to the last meeting I was glad that we chose Tim as our agent. Tim is trustworthy and reliable on all discussions and decisions. After each contact he follows up clearly and promptly. I recommend Tim to anyone engaging in the property market throughout the district.

I am an ex-Taumarunui resident who was given the task of selling the family home on behalf of my siblings and myself. Tim was highly recommended by locals and we could see why. At every stage of the sale process he kept us informed and his recommendations were paramount in getting the house sold within the price range we wanted. At all times, communication through regular phone calls, emails and texts was fabulous but it was the way Tim went the ‘extra mile’ for us that was most impressive and appreciated, especially later in the evening when it was convenient for us to communicate after work.
