22 September 2025 I am very grateful that Nik Sams, Barfoot & Thompson Whangaparaoa was recommended to me by family who found that Nik went the extra mile during the sale of a paddock they subdivided from their lifestyle block. I have been very satisfied with the clear policies/procedures Barfoot & Thompson have set out to guide the process, firstly of marketing my residential property and then when it went to a pre-auction offer. Nik was flexible and generous with his time to ensure extra open homes were fitted into the shortened space before the auction. Nik’s experience enabled me to link with other people/companies to prepare the house beforehand which was really helpful. While I was a little reluctant to sell by auction the result left me stunned. Nik’s energy and behind the scenes work and regular communication made the short intense somewhat exhausting time of selling my home far less daunting and I am happy to recommend his services.

I acknowledge the property market was at its worst in Auckland at the time the house was on the market. Nik was always enthusiastic but I think it was hard to give direction as far as price as it was an unknown at this time. Even the property experts couldn’t predict or didn’t know what was happening. However Nik kept positive and always kept me up to date. Also he was always a phone call away and never failed to get back to me if he wasn’t available at a time I contacted him. He chased every perspective buyers relentlessly. I think it was difficult in the sale process for him to have another B&T agent selling the house as Nik knew the house after it being on market for over a year. There were things that the other agent wasn’t able to relay to the buyer and he was reluctant to get Nik involved. Nik was very keen to help in any way. Nik is a hardworking agent and is very keen to help in anyway he can even offering to help with painting, cleaning windows, shifting, etc etc.
From the first phone call, you know you’re dealing with someone that is very helpful and understanding. Takes pride in his work and presence himself very well.
After achieving a sale on our property Nik went on to help me find my little slice of paradise. Nik was onto it knowing my budge, and area I wanted to buy, he searched high and low and was so on the ball in some cases I was first to view some properties. Needless to say, Nik's communication was fantastic. Nik viewed house after house with me with determination and tenacity to find that special one for me. After missing out on a number of properties we finally found the one and with amazing tutoring on the auction process, and how to bid at an auction, I bought the most amazing place which ticked ALL the boxes plus MORE!!!
