Real estate has always been close to home, with her brother Richard “Ginga” Jensen, now owner of Harcourts Team Manawatu Ltd. Working alongside Richard as his personal assistant sparked Mel’s own passion for real estate and led her to gain her real estate licence. Alongside raising her two children, Mel also spent many years helping build and support her family plumbing business, developing strong organisational skills, a practical mindset, and a deep understanding of the importance of relationships, trust, and communication. Now returning to the industry she genuinely enjoys, Mel brings a relatable, family-focused approach to real estate. As a lifelong local with strong community ties, she understands the people, lifestyle, and values that make the Manawatū such a great place to call home. Outside of work, Mel is heavily involved in sport and can often be found on the sidelines of the netball court, rugby field, and supporting her son racing at the speedway. Mel engaged with my son & I 100% right from the start. From asking us what we were looking/wanted in a home. Listening to what we did or didn't like in any house we viewed with her. Phoning every week whether there were any houses that suited us in the new listings or not. I found Mel genuinely cared and wanted to find us the forever home we wanted. She even went the extra mile and went door knocking on a street that we had put an offer in on a house, that wasn't accepted at the time; as Mel knew how much I loved the street. Mel encouraged us to not give up on the house in that street as the deadline was still a couple of weeks away and put in our offer on the deadline.
