We love our new home. Unfortunately we did not have the best experience with Damian. When we first viewed the property, Damian had to wait in his car as he was a close contact of covid so did not take us through and we couldn't ask the usual questions. When we saw the textured ceiling we thought it was asbestos and went to leave pretty quickly. On the way out he assured us it was not so we arranged a verbal building inspection and got a great verbal report and signed the S&P. When we requested the full building inspection including the maintenance plan, we learned that the inspector had lost the photos and his notes. This was my first property so I was worried about purchasing a home without a building inspection and asked our lawyer. She advised we bring the building inspector along to the presettlement inspection to check it is in the same condition he saw it as we only rushed through after seeing 3 other properties that evening and more that weekend and could barely remember it. When we asked Damian about this he said it was unusual but would be fine. We organised the time with the building inspector but behind our backs Damian called the building inspector and told him it was illegal for him to come to the presettlement inspection (wrong) . We believe he told the inspector we were trying to use him to get out of the deal which is completely untrue, we were already locked in to the contract at this stage. The building inspector then called us and refused to come. This really damaged our preciously good relationship with our inspector. We asked if Damian had called him and what he had said and the building inspector told us he had. We then had to get legal advice and call Damian who then called the inspector to rearrange the inspection. This was such unnecessary stress and legal fees when all we wanted was some peace of mind as it was our first home together.
Selling our house in the competitive pre Christmas market - Damien and Amanda were a perfect match for us. Communication’s we’re open and honest and we always knew where interest in the property sat.
