What a pleasure!

After many weeks (read: months!) of frustration working with fluffy, uninterested, unreliable or simply annoying agents from other companies, we happened upon this property and met Nidd's dynamic duo, Chris and Pete. What a pleasure! Friendly, open, knowledgeable, efficient and reliable. The week before, I'd had a previous agent tell me to my face that, "Don't you know that agents only work in favour of the vendor?" when explaining his poor performance and choices that lead directly to us losing a property... and while this may be an unspoken but truth-filled statement, no buyer wants to FEEL like that. But we were understandandably gun-shy by the time we walked into this home. How surprising and pleasant to be treated well instead of disdainfully - yes, we know the market is busy and there are lots of buyers, but we still want to feel like our enquiries and concerns are being taken seriously and that our money, or lack of it, is being treated respectfully. From beginning to end, Chris and Pete did more than was required, to a higher standard than expected and in a shorter time frame than promised. THAT is the gold standard for us as buyers and investors. But it was their 'bedside manner' if you like, that really made the difference. It's not a quantifiable thing, it really is just a feeling and if you have ever sat on the wrong end of it, you will know how good it feels when it is done right. I would happily look for properties WITHIN the NIDD group again so that I have the excuse to work with these two agents in the future.
