Despite agents working for vendors, Mike was great and supportive of my partner and I in securing the purchase of our house. No question was stupid and if Mike did not know the answer to a question, he endeavoured to find out. He did not pressure us and was great at the end process after we had won the auction. We have no objection in recommending Mike.

Mike has been professional and understanding all throughout the process. Mike was lovely when we first met him and he showed us our house. After we won the Auction he made us feel bad that he had to console the people who we outbid which was just the first thing, even though it should have been an exciting time for us, he was more focused on them. The documents were all signed, and then a few days later he asked us to push out our settlement date to a week later, which we couldn't do due to previous arrangements, if we were to push the date out it would have had to have been by an extra 2 weeks as that was the only time we have free. He made us feel terrible for not being able to change the date. He told us he would arrange a time for us to meet the owners and neighbours and tell us everything we needed to know, never happened. the only time we ever heard from him, was when he was trying to cover his own ass for his mess ups. Mike lied to us throughout the entire process and i would never deal with him again.
Mike had the difficult task of selling both our home and rental property so that we could purchase our "forever dream-home". We were very nervous about whether both properties could be sold in time to to meet the finance deadline for our purchase, but Mike's marketing campaign was top notch, he gave us honest realistic price expectations (other agents often give inflated estimates to get you to sign with them). Mike also gave us great advice on how to improve our properties value prior to going live with the marketing campaigns. throughout the process Mike was methodical, and displayed confidence in his marketing strategy - Even despite the un announced level 3 lockdown happening the day after the campaign went live! With the challenge of level 3 lockdown, Mike slightly adjusted his game-plan to suit and still got us sale prices well over expectation, and in half the allocated time! if lockdown put him under pressure, it certainly did show! Mike went way beyond what other agents have provided for us in the past, with landscaping advice, and issues we have regarding moving, and storage. We are moving into our "forever dream home" in a few weeks, and I think it is safe to say it would probably not be happening if we had chosen a different agent. In future we will only be dealing with Mike, and we thoroughly recommend him. To quote the movie Lone Survivor - "Mike Murphy? ...... The Mike Murphy!"

Have just bought our first home through Mike Murphy. Even though he was acting for vendor, we felt he had our best interests in mind as well. He is very professional and very proactive. He made the buying process stress free for us. We shared with him how bad our experience with a previous failed transaction went and he said “we will change that”, he definitely did! Mike is highly recommended whether you are buying or selling. He is the man!
Buying a house was for me a very unpleasant experience. It starts with viewing properties online. You will then waste your weekends visiting said properties to discover the agent has taken very misleading photos and generally have been untruthful in the property write up. My experience with Mike was different. It appeared to begin the same. The house was really well presented on Trademe. I went to the open home fully expecting it to be a shitter. Au contraire, if anything Mike had under sold the house. Meeting Mike he was friendly, and not over bearing like a distrustful salesman. He let me inspect the house undisturbed. The open home was very busy, with a lot of interest. I wanted to view the house again on the Monday night, Mike was really accommodating. There was no pressure to buy. I made an offer that night. It went multi offer, and mine was selected. I put this down to the sound advice given by Mike that night. In a nutshell, the industry is full of snakes. Mike is not one of these. This was my first home purchase. If I had met Mike earlier in the game I feel the whole house purchase experience would have been better. Cheers Mike!
