He quickly followed up my requests for specific data I required on the property as I was living 400km from the home we were considering. His work prompted me to drive up and view the property within the week. On viewing the property, which seemed to suit our requirements, it was his quietly spoken enthusiasm and factual knowledge of the property that quickly had me view the property very positively after some 6 years of searching the Nelson Richmond region. A day later Joy and I both viewed the property with him, Anthony having also supplied extensive written documentation I had requested. At all times his professionalism showed he had a high regard of the vendor's needs while abley paying close attention to us as the prospective purchasers. A third viewing, at a different time of day, gave Joy and I a good feeling for the property helped by Anthony's continued personable enthusiasm for the property, quietly pointing out it's attributes and suggesting ways we could make it our home. After-all it was going to be a big move for us and Anthony was totally aware of this situation for us. All this culminated in us signing an unconditional contact with-in 10 days of first driving up to Nelson! His after sales consultations have been warm and very helpful and made us feel at ease with our decision. After a more then terrible and shocking experience with another realestate agent who wasted us a lot of time and money (who I should mention was from another firm for another property) it was a welcoming change for us to get Anthony as the realestate agent for us for buying this townhouse. He was more than happy to meet up with us to work around us (even last minute before we travelled home) and seems like a honest and genuine guy with the whole process, we would recommend him to anyone buying or selling there home.

Anthony worked hard to sell the property and was very quick to respond to any issues he felt needed to be dealt with. The service he provided was open and transparent and we feel that he responded well to a quickly changing market, getting us a price that was fair and acceptable.

Overall we felt disappointed by Anthony & Bayleys. We’re first home buyers and communication was lacking throughout the settlement process. Credit where credit is due; Anthony was quick at arranging a private viewing for the property and was quick to respond when getting the sales and purchase agreement sorted. However, it felt like once he sold the property he lost all care. We had a long settlement - we signed for the house in November, and did not hear a single word from Anthony after that (to this day!) We settled on 11th Feb and were upset to learn the day before from our lawyers that we were entitled to a pre-settlement inspection, which Anthony nor anybody at Bayleys advised us of and by that stage it was too late to arrange. A couch was left at the property which the vendors told us via a note that it would be shifted a few days after settlement, and a sink was leaking water all through the garage, however Anthony did not let us know about this either. We were told by the lawyer that our agent would be in touch when settlement was complete. Anthony didn’t contact us, instead we got a call from the receptionist at Bayleys to come collect the key, and when we picked it up she handed it over without enthusiasm (we understand this is nothing new for them but to us it was a big deal and a massive amount of money for the house, and having this reaction did dampen our spirit!) We also didn’t hear from Anthony at all when we moved in - not even a quick phone call or congratulations note. We have since learnt that several other friends who bought houses received lots of communication from their agents prior to settlement and all offered pre-inspections, and received gift baskets when they moved in to say congratulations. None of this we received. As first home buyers with little knowledge on home buying, the support we didn’t receive during settlement was very much needed. What was meant to be a very exciting day felt tainted and stressful. Would not recommend.
