Facing time, distance and market issues, Darrell came through for us.
Our house had been rented out multiple times during the pandemic as was showing the strain. The housing market world-wide had changed and it wasn't clear what that meant for New Plymouth real estate. I was in NZ for three months and wanted to sell - but I had no experience with the kiwi system of selling a house. We had a lot of questions: what price, what repairs and improvments, what type of sale, what agent. Finding answers in a very fluid situation wasn't easy. We even had one agent walk out the door basically saying the situation was hopeless. We didn't believe that, and we needed an agent who didn't believe that either.
We found Darrell through the recommedation of friends and family. From the start he was honest and up-front about the challenges but also about how we could address those challenges. He recommended workmen for the jobs we couldn't handle and suggestions for the issues to prioritize in bringing the property back up to snuff. Two months of hardwork brought the house back to the condition we'd always strived to keep it in.
That left Darrell with one month to market and sell the house before I had to leave the country. And this in a challenging market where no one knew what even the short term prospects for real-estate were. Darrell conducted an advertizing campaign, found and vetted potential buyers, showed the house to multiple prospectives and in the end found the right buyer for the property. With two days left on my visa I had a signed offer in hand at a price we were happy with.
Throughout the process Darrell provided assitance and advice and worked through any issues that The Council might have. Good, open and clear communications, a knowledge of the intracacies of the real-estate process and an energy in marketing the property were all assets that Darrell brought to the project. By working together with Darrell we were able overcome all the obstacles we encountered.
Thanks Darrell!
