Adam played a key role in helping the team achieve the title of Harcourts New Zealand’s Number One Rural Lifestyle Team from 2018 through to 2023. With a sharp understanding of the rural lifestyle market and a solid grasp of what’s currently on offer, Adam is a valuable resource for both buyers and sellers. As the team’s dedicated equine expert, he’s especially in tune with the unique needs of horse-friendly properties—whether it’s paddock layout, fencing, or facilities, he speaks your language (and your horse’s).
Before entering real estate, Adam owned and operated a franchise fencing business and worked in Dunedin for Downer Construction. Sales run deep in his family—his mother and stepfather, Bobbie and Paul Sumner, have been Harcourts NZ's Number 1 Rural & Lifestyle sales team for six consecutive years. His grandfather also having over 60 years of sales experience.
A proud lifelong Hamiltonian, Adam grew up in Glenview and attended Hillcrest High School. His strong local roots have helped him build a wide-reaching network and many lasting relationships. He also competed in cricket at a high level, representing Hamilton, Northern Districts, and Otago, and even played in the UK. The discipline, teamwork, and competitive edge developed through sport have shaped his proactive, solution-focused business approach.
Outside of work, Adam enjoys life with his partner and their two daughters, Ayla and Blayke. Known for his attention to detail, excellent listening skills, and approachable nature, Adam is committed to delivering top-quality service to every client.
