The slightly unconventional story of how Adam & Eve sold our house…
Somewhere in the blur of unexpectedly landing a job in Australia and trying to work out whether to rent or sell our home, I apparently filled in a form online. I barely remember doing it. Then some bloke called Adam phoned asking about our house. My reaction was roughly, “Who is this guy, and what have I signed myself up for?” 😂 Adam came around to meet us, professionally dressed in cream pants. Unfortunately, nobody briefed our two dogs, who enthusiastically welcomed him and rapidly turned those cream pants a rather different colour. He took it remarkably well. In hindsight, probably our first sign we’d found the right guy. We weren’t even convinced we wanted to sell, but Adam never pushed us. He talked us through everything, explained the market, listened to what we needed and made an overwhelming situation feel manageable. Then I moved to Australia, leaving my wife in New Zealand juggling three kids, two dogs, the house and an international relocation. Through all of it, Adam simply made things easy. Selling a house in a tough market while one owner is overseas and the other is managing three kids and two dogs isn’t exactly a recipe for an easy property transaction. Somehow, Adam made it feel like one. So what started with a form I don’t remember filling in, a random phone call and a pair of cream pants that never stood a chance ended with our house sold and us genuinely delighted with the outcome. Adam, thank you. You’ve been an absolute pleasure to deal with, and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to guide us through it. Adam & Eve really did make it easy. Would we recommend them? Absolutely. Would we recommend Adam wear cream pants when meeting clients with two large dogs? Absolutely not. 😂
