My experience with Harcourts was significantly below expectations and did not reflect the level of professionalism required when selling a property. From the outset, the process was poorly coordinated and unnecessarily stressful. I was advised that the property was worth approximately 650K, a figure that appeared more aligned with securing the listing than with an accurate market assessment. Four months after signing the contract, the only offer received was 575K. There was a consistent lack of urgency, and the agreed‑upon sales strategy was not executed. Communication was fragmented, and I frequently had to follow up, restate instructions, and seek clarity on tasks that should have been proactively managed by the agency. The only positive aspects were that marketing and staging were covered, and Sam provided assistance with obtaining neighbour consents. However, these limited benefits did not offset the broader issues of inadequate execution, minimal accountability, and an overall absence of effective leadership throughout the campaign. Overall, the experience was disappointing and far more stressful than it should have been.
