What's around 18 Peacock Street

Classic kiwi living

Wake up to the sun on your face and the invigorating smell of sea air. Situated in a park-like setting, this large land holding faces northeast and comprises a four bedroom home that soaks up fabulous warm sunshine and has a close connection to the harbour and islands of the inner gulf. Offered for the first time in 34 years, the layout provides a range of intimate living spaces, each inviting you to sit and enjoy the unique view corridors of the water. The clever layout includes a cosy sitting room with fireplace, a dining area with wood burner and a gorgeous sunroom - the ideal spot to sit in the afternoon with a drink and enjoy the sound of silence. Multiple staircases provide separate accessways to both the guest room with bathroom and the main bedroom suite. Designed by Michael Thomson of Architectus the feel and style of the home references the Cook Sargisson genre of the 80s. Full of its own character and charm this harbourside sanctuary's quiet, private setting enjoys the sound of water lapping on the foreshore, the glistening of moonlight on water and a step out connection to a gorgeous lawn surrounded by mature trees. With your own private gate to the access to Karaka Bay just metres away, there's an exclusive harbour and beachside lifestyle on offer here that will appeal to many. In zone for Churchill Park School and Glendowie College, this prime property comes with plenty of options for enhancement or further development.

Committed, enthusiastic and loyal. Alison and Ivy Jackson Mee went the extra mile for us !

In May this year we decided to emigrate to Dublin and wanted an experienced Agent who could work with us to our deadline of only a few months. They would have to be prepared to stay committed to us after we left New Zealand, if the house hadn’t sold by then. Alison and Ivy stepped up to the mark and beyond. They kept us informed every step of the way, committed to achieving the best price for us in a somewhat depressed market. And they succeeded of course! As we knew they would. Alison negotiated the final deal with skill, ensuring that the buyer felt that we were all doing our best to achieve a positive result for everyone. Ivy was a wonderfully cheerful and calm presence when we were trying to pack up the house and have weekly Open Homes. She helped sweep decks, vacuum carpets, sort out anything she could to keep the house looking immaculate. Lots of enthusiasm and kindness, just like her mother! We knew when we flew out of Auckland for a new life in Ireland, that we were leaving our beloved home in safe hands. Many thanks to the Jackson Mee team for all their hard work and skill. We will miss them but are keeping a room free for them in Dublin in the summer!
