This 101 hectare bare land property is located in the heart of the Ruataniwha Plains, just 22 kilometres west of Waipukurau and three kilometres from Ongaonga township. An ideal cropping, finishing and dairy support block, also suited for pip fruit on these Takapau silt loam soils. The irrigation consent allows for 170,000m3 over 50 hectares, with a 100 metre deep well. 48 hectares are irrigated by the centre pivot and another 15 to 20 hectares have water hydrants suitable for other irrigation methods. Recent crop varieties grown have been diverse including potatoes, carrot seed, onions, squash, barley, and maize for dairy silage. The maize area previously benefited from three years of chicken manure input under organic production. Approximately 36 hectares are planted in lucerne under dryland production. Good cattle yards are present with a cattle crush and scales. Livestock water runs off two bores with submersible pumps and a water tank with water reticulated to several troughs on the property. In addition, there are a number of older buildings suitable for storage including a woolshed which would be practical if intensive lamb finishing was adopted in the future.
