Overview

Pristine Native Bush, Modern Cabin & Water Supply

Tucked away amongst stunning mature native bush, this charming modern cabin affectionately named "Kauri Cottage" offers a rare opportunity to secure your own private slice of Great Barrier Island paradise. Surrounded by abundant birdlife and the sounds of nature, this tranquil retreat was originally created by Buddhists seeking serenity, simplicity and a deeper connection with the natural environment. A well-maintained driveway provides easy drive-up access, with parking for up to three vehicles and plenty of room to turn around. Inside, the studio-style cabin makes clever use of its space, featuring a mezzanine double bedroom above an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. On cooler evenings, settle in beside the open fire, framed by an attractive rock feature surround. When summer arrives, the deck is the perfect spot to fire up the BBQ and soak up the peaceful bush setting. Outdoor bathroom facilities include a composting toilet, copper shower and stainless-steel sink, adding to the property's simple, practical appeal. With beautiful soil offering potential for vegetable gardens and fruit trees, there's also room to establish a chicken coop and embrace a more self-sufficient lifestyle. Combined with a water supply and the surrounding native bush, this property offers an appealing opportunity to enjoy a simpler, more nature-connected way of life. Centrally positioned for convenient access to both the southern and middle parts of the island, this is a wonderful escape from the everyday - whether you're seeking a quiet weekend retreat, a private bush sanctuary or a place to reconnect with nature. If peace, privacy and a little piece of paradise are calling, this charming bush hideaway deserves your attention.
