Overview

‘Craigmore Downs’ - Scale and Opportunity - 384ha

Held by the same farming family since 1908, ‘Craigmore Downs’ presents a rare opportunity to secure a substantial 384 hectare sheep and beef property in the highly regarded Maungati district, west of Timaru. The property features five main laneways providing excellent stock and vehicle access throughout a well subdivided farming unit. The land offers strong fertility with an attractive mix of productive flats, rolling downs and steeper areas, delivering versatility for a range of livestock enterprises. Currently farmed as a sheep and beef operation but could possibly be an excellent dairy support unit. The property includes approximately 80 hectares of lucerne, 10 hectares of winter feed and the balance is in permanent pasture. Reliable stock and domestic water is supplied via the Cannington-Motukaika Water Scheme, with an allocation of 23,000 litres per day and approximately 180,000 litres of on-farm storage capacity. At the heart of the property sits a permanent material, four bedroom, 1976, architecturally designed home positioned privately amongst established landscaped gardens. Offering open plan family living, formal dining and sitting areas, an office and a log burner, the home provides comfortable rural living complemented by a grass tennis court. Farm improvements include a 3-stand woolshed with covered yards accommodating pens for approximately 900 sheep, cattle yards, two hay barns, tractor and utility sheds, and three concrete-lined silage pits. A genuine scale property combining productive country, sufficient infrastructure and over a century of family ownership, ‘Craigmore Downs’ is ready for its next chapter, so enquire now. Plus GST (if any) Deadline Private Treaty closes 1.00pm Wednesday 18 November 2026
